Does PC have software similar to Aperture (for multimedia purposes)?

Just discovered Apple’s Aperture, looks like an easy way to make multimedia slideshows. The only problem is, I am the only person at the office using Mac, so I need to find similar software for PC – is there such a thing?

Adobe Lightroom might work for you. $299 full retail, upgrade available, Windows-compatible (see system specs for details).

I'm on a Mac too, so not sure, but check out these alternatives.

  1. Thanks, but none of these mention video. I am looking for something faster than FCP that could make slideshows using both photos and video.

Perhaps Picasa has some useful features for this? Also there's Soundslides for just making Flash slideshows

  1. I just ran Picasa demo – it’s amazing. Has many of Aperture’s features – but for free (and for PC). Thanks!

Not many options outside video editing systems for putting video and photos together. Pinnacle Studio is a nice, simple, video editor if you don't want to dive into Adobe Premiere. I like it much better than Windows Movie Maker (or iMovie, for that matter).

Not really full blown apps, but...

Slideshowpro all the way! It is not an app, but it does photos/audio/video... I use Lightroom to manage the photos. I prefer SSP Director hosting. SSP products are very customizable. With SSP, you can mix photos/video.

Soundslides is probably better for slideshows that need a precise audio soundtrack... There is an app to help you build the SS slideshows.
